University of Manchester Chorus

The University of Manchester Chorus is the official choral society of the University, made up of students and members of the local community. Each year we go from strength to strength, performing magnificent choral works in our Christmas and spring concerts alongside the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra.

This year, we are performing Beethoven’s ‘Missa Solemnis’ in our November concert followed by Britten’s ‘War Requiem’ in May, which will be held in Manchester’s very own Bridgewater Hall. It will be a great honour to sing in Bridgewater Hall and we are all very excited for the experience.

Rehearsals create a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, taking place every Thursday evening. There is a break in the middle so there is always opportunity to meet new people and catch up with friends.

The University Chorus is not auditioned, meaning it is open to anyone who wishes to be involved. Whatever your ability or past experience, we will always welcome you! Our ‘welcome’ rehearsal will be on Thursday 26th of September in the Martin Harris Centre and the following two weeks will be for official sign up, if you subsequently wish to join.
