The MUMS community not only thrives on music-making, but also socialising! As well as attending concerts, there are many social events to participate in. Yearly traditions include the Fresher’s week 3-legged pub-crawl, Christmas Party, Lovetrain and Summer Ball. On top of that there are plans for concert outings, sports days and many more events!

Your MUMS' Cookin'!
Friday 12th February

For one night only journey back with MUMS to the 1950s for an evening of good old-fashioned fun with tea, cakes and some crazy Lindy Hop dancing!!

We shall be going to YOUR MAMA'S COOKIN' at the RUBY LOUNGE (Northern Quarter) and with "all the tunes you used to dance to with your mum in the kitchen when you were really little" you'd be silly to miss it!

COST: £5 (maximum...we're getting a discount hopefully...further details to be announced in near future)


PLAN:

7.00pmish - Meet at KRO in PICCADILLY GARDENS dressed in suitable 1940/50s attire for some classy cocktails and wonderful wine to get the evening going.

8.30pm - We'll all head over to YOUR MAMA'S COOKIN' at RUBY LOUNGE for some tasty cake and tea.

9.45pm - Lindy Hop dance lesson. We will be able to perform all dance moves by the end of this (including the move portrayed in event picture) although this may be due to alcohol bravado and not skill!

10.45pm till 3am - Dance 'n' drink the night away with new found dance skills with DJs The B-Bop Kid, Eimaj Eel and CC Ryder.

MUMS Christmas Party

Giant shoes, chocolate money and an appearance from Father Christmas: hosted this year at Manchester235, 200 people attended the end-of-term cracker! Superfly Soul Collective played a set of festive tunes plus funky classics, and the DJ showed-up the musicians' dancing techniques into the small hours of the next morning. A good time had by all.
