Opportunities for singers

Whether it’s choral, chamber, musical or soul music that you’re interested in, there are plenty of opportunities for all MUMS singers. If you can’t find an ensemble for you, why not make one using our membership database.

Manchester University Chorus (Non-MUMS)
The University Chorus is a non-auditioning choir with a membership of over 250 students, staff and alumni of the University of Manchester as well as members from the wider community of Manchester and beyond. It is not part of the Music Society and has its own membership system - however it has close ties with the society as MUMS' Symphony Orchestra accompanies the Chorus' termly concerts.

Ad Solem - Manchester University Chamber Choir
The University's flagship chamber choir consisting of about 25 members in SATB. This is an auditioned choir that rehearses weekly for a variety of concerts in and about Manchester.

Superfly Soul Collective
Superfly is a band performing funk, soul and disco classics. They played at the MUMS Christmas Party as well an Pangaea and other music nights around Manchester.

Opera Scenes
Semi-staged concerts that happen once a term showcase arias, duets and choruses from numerous operas. This is open to all singers in MUMS with soloists being picked from those who show interest. For more information contact lunchtime@mumusicsociety.co.uk

Friday Lunchtime Concerts
