Superfly Soul Collective

Superfly Soul Collective was formed in 2008 by MUMS members, and is joining MUMS as an ensemble this year. It is a live band performing funk, soul and disco classics such as those by the Jackson Five, Macy Gray, Alicia Keys, Shola Ama and James Brown. Last year it was a massive 23-piece band including four lead singers, six backing vocalists, a nine-strong horn section, and four-person rhythm section. The band size and instruments involved are subject to change, depending on the gig and who auditions! Auditions are open to anyone with a passion for live music in October 2009.

Gigs so far have included:
- Music Society Christmas Party 2009 - Manchester235, Deansgate Locks
- 'Spread Your Legs for Fallowfield' - Remedy, Fallowfield
