The Music Society is one of largest and most active societies in the Students' Union at Manchester. Each year the society signs up approximately 500 members from every corner of the University - undergraduate, postgraduate and staff. Although a large core of the society is made up of music students, MUMS is not just a society for music students, and we welcome members to join from all degrees.

Reasons to Join

• Free entry to all music society concerts in the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall
• Discounted entrance fees to other music society performances
• Access to the new Jabez Clegg 25% Discount Card which is exclusive to MUMS members.
• Access to the many active ensembles within the society
• Ability to register as an instrumental/music theory teacher
• Ability to sign up to the lunchtime concert series (an excellent solo or ensemble performance opportunity!)
• Access to the basement practice rooms (only available to staff and students at the University of Manchester)
• Access to the music teacher database
• Invitation to all the society socials - for which there are many.

How do I Join?
The Music Society has a stall at the Freshers' Fair where you can become a member. However, if you miss us then members of the committee are around in the Martin Harris Centre foyer every Wednesday from 1-2pm to sign up new members. But if you cannot make then, email secretary@mumusicsociety.co.uk and they will arrange a time for you.

How Much?

For all students studying in the city of Manchester membership is £15. For those studying elsewhere or who are non-students, membership is £25, but we are limited to the number the society is allowed due to Students' Union regulations. Membership is valid from the date you join to the end of July of that academic year.
