Welcome to the Manchester University Music Society's own little piece of cyberspace. Here you can find information about one of Manchester University's largest and most active societies - with 500 members, more than 50 concerts and year and a social calendar that's fit for bursting, I for one am very excited about the 2011-12 Season!

The Manchester University Music Society (MUMS) is here to provide high-quality music making opportunities for all students at the University of Manchester. Whether you're a first year music student, or doing your PHD in maths, MUMS endeavours to provide you with opportunities to make music.

There are some ensembles that you can join by simply turning up to the first rehearsal and joining MUMS - these are String Orchestra and the Wind Orchestra (MUWO). All other opportunities are auditioned in September/October and in January, and you can sign up to auditions by emailing secretary@mumusicsociety.co.uk. You can see a full list of ensembles on the opportunities and ensembles pages.

This year, we're entering the blogosphere with regular reviews of our concerts, a blog about what the committee is up to, what we're doing socially and the infamous Sunday Update will be posted online so you will never miss out! These are all in addition to our continuing addictions to Twitter and Facebook so you'll never be out of the loop.
